Vidhu Vinod Chopra is increasingly becoming a hot shot producer. With the super success of ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, Vinod Chopra Productions has emerged as one of the biggest Production Houses in Bollywood today. It’s time for the director in Vinod Chopra to surface as well. He shall return to the Director’s Chair after a long time (His last release as a director was Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Mission Kashmir’) with ‘Eklavya’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan and Sanjay Dutt.

The film was initially supposed to release on December 15th. But then Vinod got busy with the publicity of ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ and the film got delayed by a few days. ‘Eklavya’ shall make a grand beginning on the Republic Day January 26th. It has to be noted that Firoz Nadiadwala’s ‘Fool and Final’ and UTV’s ‘Metro’ are also releasing the same day. Aamir Khan’s ‘Rang De Basanti’ released the same day last year and went on to become a blockbuster. Whether the fragrance of republic day rubs on ‘Eklavya’ as well remains to be seen. The promos played during ‘Lage Raho…’ look promising and the technical sheen of the film is first class. After ‘Black’, ‘Eklavya’ looks Big B’s best bet at another award worthy performance.
